Can I spread the cost of video?

One question I often get it if the cost of video production can be spread across months, rather than the usual half up front, half on completion model. The short answer, is yes!
The production company will often need to account for their own costs to see if a payment plan is viable (props, location hire, talent, kit, etc!) so sometimes it might be that a larger up front deposit is required and then the remainder is spread over the agreed months. If the production team you're talking to won't spread the cost, simply ask why; if they're reluctant to tell you it could spell financial trouble on their part and put your project at risk.
As a general rule though, it's helpful to the business as it's regular cashflow, and it serves you as the client well as it can help with your cashflow too so you can pay a smaller amount anywhere from 3-12 months depending on what you agree.
A word of advice though - make sure it's in the contract! Ensure you've got a written agreement in place confirming the payment plan and the way in which you'll pay each month.
